Sikkim Public Service Commission has re-fixed the examination date for the posts of Dy. SP & Under Secretary post on 20th July, 2014 (Sunday). Syllabus for Preliminary Examination -
Paper-I -

• Current events of national & international importance.
• History of India & Indian National movement.
• Physical, Social, economic geography of India & the world.
• Indian polity & Governance - constitution, political system, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Right issues etc.
• Economic & Social development - sustainable development, Poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiative etc.
• General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity & Climate change - that do not require subject specialisation.
• General Science.

Paper-II -

• Comprehension
• Interpersonal skills including & analytical ability.
• Decision-making & problem solving.
• General mental ability.
• Basic numeracy (number & their relation, orders of magnitude etc.) Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.)
• English language comprehension skills.

Preliminary Examination - 

• The exam shall comprise two compulsory papers of 300 marks each.
• Both the papers will be objective type.
• Each paper will be two & half hour duration.
• The question paper will be set in English.
